A project to refurbish the largest Thames Water reed bed was recently completed.
Berkhampsted reed beds consist of 16000m2 of passive Horizontal Sub Surface Flow reed beds. NWS was selected to refurb part of the system by removing the gravel and washing it. Wash water from the refurbishment was recycled through lamella filters and solids were collected and removed.
